    Unhappy

I just talked to customer service and they received a memo that states that they will continue to service Hopscotch hill dolls until 1/1/2007. After that date they will no longer be accepted into the hospital for repair.

They are not listed on the online hospital form anymore. Here are the prices if you need them

    Reattachment of head $16.00
    New Head $22.00
New body (torso and limbs) $22.00
Shipping and processing $5.95 per doll

That is really too bad. I'd be very sad if something happened to one of our dolls and we couldn't send her off to the hospital. I'll bet there will be quite a few unhappy kids in the future. - Meg B.

    Thanks Kim!

I've been wondering how long AG would continue to take care of the Hopscotch Hill dolls and I really appreciate this information!

Our Skylar's hair is a bit thin and I'm considering trying to send her to the hospital for a repair. I guess they would replace her head entirely?

If anyone reads this and has an opinion or has sent a HH doll in for repair please advise me as to whether or not it's worth it!

Thanks again for the prices & date.

I know what you all mean about playthings vs collectors items and how hard it is to just say (mostly to myself) "these dolls are toys just go ahead and enjoy them, wear them out!"

I'll really have to think about sending Skylar in for the head swap. The only problem is she is DD's favorite so I'm not sure how I can get her away from DD without it being a big ordeal!

I've kind of decided that it would be better for DD to wear out the HH dolls than the 18" ones just because they seem less sturdy to me anyway.

It's too bad that AG isn't going to offer the HH dolls hospital services for the long haul :-(

Thank you so much for the info. I have all 4 new in boxes. I was planning to give them to my daughter's for Christmas from their brother who picked them out for them. Maybe I should wait now...Just in case.

I would send Skylar for a new head while you can.

I'm in the same boat-- my youngest is supposed to get her two for Chrismas but I am concerned about her being gentle enough with them. She's still young but she loves her older sister's HHS dolls and wants to play so badly. I had called CS and asked them about this about a month ago and they said the hospital would continue to repair the dolls. They didn't say anything about only until the 1st of January and I said I was planning to give them to DD at Christmas. *sigh*

DH thinks we should go ahead and just supervise as much as we can and impart the importance of being careful. She's getting Gwen and Skylar. I have one more Gwen but not another Skylar. Part of me thinks they are meant to be play things and the important thing is for her to enjoy them. Part of me thinks maybe we should wait. But if we wait, big sis will have BB, HHS and Kit before little sis has anyone but BB. Doesn't seem fair, even with a three year age difference.
